Parenting verses

“When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon son of John, do you love Me more than these?’  ‘Yes, Lord’, he said, ‘You know that I love You’.  Jesus said, ‘Feed My lambs’.”                     John 20:15

My observation – Jesus asked Peter about feeding His lambs before asking about feeding His sheep.  Children are a priority to Jesus.

“He called a little child to Him, and placed the child among them.  And He said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.  Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.  And whoever welcomes one such child in My name welcomes Me’.”   Matthew 18:2-6

“See that you do not despise one of these little ones.  For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of My Father in heaven.”  Matthew 18:10

But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things He did and the children shouting in the temple courts, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David’, they were indignant.  ‘Do you hear what these children are saying?’ they asked Him. ‘Yes’, replied Jesus, ‘have you never read, From the lips of children and infants You, Lord, have called forth Your praise’?”   Matthew 21:15-16

“People were bringing little children to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them.  When Jesus saw this, He was indignant. He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’  And He took the children in His arms, placed His hands on them and blessed them.”  Mark 10:13-16

“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”     2 Timothy 3:14-15

“It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble.”    Luke 17:2.

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”   3 John 1:4

“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”  Mark 9:37

“Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him.  Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.  Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.”           Psalm 127:3-5a

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.   I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.  Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”  Psalm 139:15-16
